We are pleased to announce that our friends at Kuyimá have launched a summer camp for children ages 8-13 at Laguna San Ignacio, B.C.S. The Kuyimá Center for Environmental Interpretation is inviting children from Mexico, the United States and Canada for a nine-day learning experience about preserving the environment and sharing information about each others' cultures. The program consists of various activities including interpretive walks to the desert, mangroves, marshes and nearby islands; swimming; birdwatching; arts and crafts, music and exercise, environmental education and guided visits to oyster farms and fishing grounds.
The camp consists of comfortable accommodation in cabins, nutritious food, and supervision and guidance by biologists and college students.
The groups are limited to 20 participants to ensure personal attention
and supervision. Registration is open for the following dates: July
2-10, and July 9-17. These programs will transport children by bus
from Tijuana and Ensenada to Laguna San Ignacio. Another program
scheduled for July 16-24 will depart the Los Cabos area and La Paz to Laguna San Ignacio. Guides will be with the children on buses and while at camp. For more information email bajadis@aol.com or call 800-829-2252 and we will put you in touch with the program directors.
